Omaha Chiropractor | Dr. Bruce Godfrey

I always thought chiropractors were just like any other kind of doctor.

Omaha Chiropractors Drs. Bruce and Kate Godfrey

Chiropractors helped me through the pain of crashing my bike when I was kid, then again when I was the passenger in five separate car accidents during high school and college. I should have chosen friends who could drive! Then I looked up what chiropractors do and found the natural approach to health care appealed to me. I decided that's what I would do. I didn't realize until part way through chiropractic school that I had chosen a career path that would be such a challenge! The greatest rewards come when a patient realizes an adjustment is not just about pain relief, but can help them live life to the fullest!

I attended Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri. I spent my early childhood in St. Louis and moved to Omaha during middle school, so when it came time to pick a school, Logan was a natural choice. I still had friends there and was happy to re-visit my childhood home. During school, I was especially challenged by Gross Anatomy. It fascinated me to see how intricately the body is put together. In fact, I became a teaching assistant and helped new students learn anatomy for two years. That experience prepared me well for the teaching aspect of being a doctor.

I'm committed to chiropractic care.

My wife, Dr. Kate, and I met in the Logan College Gross Anatomy lab. Helping each other learn turned to dating, and eventually marriage. We're still at our best when we find a common interest to pursue, like making our yard into an edible garden. Our goal is for every tree, shrub and plant to produce food for our family. We want our three kids to develop a love for the outdoors and an appreciation for how we fit into nature. If it involves camping, hiking, building campfires or jumping in a lake, we'll be there! Our two boys are enjoying music and Scouting. Our daughter is learning dance and loves riding her bike.

I'm committed to being a life-long chiropractic patient and I receive adjustments about twice a month. This keeps me functioning at top form. I like to get outside with the kids, go to the pool or ride my bike as often as the weather allows. When it doesn't, I spend time at the gym to stay in shape. We strive to buy our food from local farmers and avoid processed food as much as possible. I take supplements every day and take no medications. Our kids are not vaccinated because I see the purpose in the immune system becoming strong by fighting its own battles. I am glad the medical system is there if a crisis occurs, but true health cannot come from a pill or a shot, it has to come from your daily habits.

Enough about me! How can we help you with today’s safe and natural chiropractic care? Give us a call so we can help you take your first step towards better health.

Dr. Godfrey Asks some important questions of interest to Omaha residents - Chiropractor Omaha Dr. Godfrey Asks...

Why are some people allergic to pollen and others aren't?
It's not the pollen. Chiropractors know that if it were, everyone would be allergic to pollen, nuts and pet dander. But that's not the case. It's the person, not the pollen! If you live in Omaha and your stress levels are high, then each year the grass, the trees or the weeds put your nervous system over the top. Many report that chiropractic care helps reduce the frequency and severity of their allergic response.
Are chiropractors just concerned with the spine?
Our interest in the spine is because it covers the major communications conduit between your brain and your body. As a Omaha chiropractor my job is to locate areas (usually along the spine) that interfere with proper nerve communications to and from your brain. Chiropractic adjustments help restore nervous system integrity. In this way, chiropractic care can affect the function of your entire body.
